Work Party #1

Spring Work Party Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 9:00AM The time has come to get to the Pond for a Work Party. This is to prepare the site and the waterways for when the new dam will be inflated and tested sometime in May. We really need volunteers to come down to help. Note that there is no parking on Monterey Highway at the dock area, nor in the launch ramp area so we will meet at the lot North of the dock. Please RSVP if you can attend and see you then. Work Activities for Sunday 1. Clear vegetation that has grown up in Pond • There are weed and growth in several areas where the boats operate. This task involves wading and cutting out the higher plants. • Need water shoes and neoprene likely, though we will not be swimming. The bottom can be very slippery. • Tools- battery powered saws, loppers, hedge trimmers, tarps to collect 2. Clear Launch Ramp area • There is a lot of growth and tules at the ramp. Again loppers, saws, weed whackers. • This is muddy when into the pond area. • Also we want to try to dig down the back of the prop wash pool. Requires shovels. 3. Clear and weed whack launch area out to dock. Weed whackers or mowers needed. 4. Trash removal always needed requires garbage bags
